Review of Behind the Candelabra (2013) by Sandy G — 25 Jun 2013
I thought with all great reviews , and Michael Douglas wanting his children to see this , that this would be somehow a positive film. Unfortunately Lee was very disturbed , vain , controlling man and Scott doesn't come off much better , terribly depressing and shallow lives.
As Scott co wrote it , I can only assume this is his version of the truth , which his side is pretty dark. Michael Douglas does play it well , as Lee , he does come off as a villain with no redeeming features , he played his life as a showman , which left him very drained for anything else.
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone , unless you like a lot of mens bottoms , drug use , and brokeback action.
