Review of Behind the Candelabra (2013) by David L — 10 Aug 2013
If this is meant to be a biopic of Liberace, it aint flattering. Michael Douglas is brilliant, with or without the hairpiece but it really boils down to this : rich performer needs a boy plaything. He gets him.
Uses him, and dumps him after a few years. Im surprised @ Soderbergh as reputedl he said this might be the last studio production he does before heading into TV. Not his best work but then again, Liberace's lifestory seems pretty vacuous and sad.
Next up, Michael Jackson and the pet monkey.
