Review of Behind the Candelabra (2013) by J. Scott F — 23 Nov 2013
Michael Douglas and Matt Damon are at the top of their craft in this film - brilliant, truthful character embodiments without a hint of irony, or the smirking subtext of a straight actor playing gay. They both rise to the challenge, portraying nuance, tenderness, desire, confusion, and psychological complexity.
Brilliant.
