Christopher Plummer is a joy, the endlessly indulgent and trite romance that unfolds between an unusually irritating Ewan McGregor and Melanie Laurent is a patchwork of movie cliches that bears no resemblance to the actuality of human relations.
There are glimmers of humour, McGregor's Mother is wonderfully written and acted.
