Review of Beginners (2011) by Kavita T — 19 Jan 2012
While the film does succumb to many 'quirky indie' trappings, it's redeemed by the strong performances from Plummer and McGregor. Though the direction is a little indulgent and inconsistent, Mike Mills manages to let the heart of the film emerge from behind all the sentiment and cuteness.
