Review of Beginners (2011) by Desiree L — 28 Feb 2012
Ewan macgregor plays a man whose father comes out to him after the death of his mother. and it's not long before his father gets sick and dies too. while we don't get any clear backstory on mcgregor's character, it's evident that he's not been lucky in love and at 38 he's not sure if he'll ever be. but he meets a girl at a party one night and things seem like they're going to turn around for him... but it won't be so simple. he has his baggage and she has hers...
I liked the style of the film and the way the story unfolds. emotionally it has the feel of a wes anderson film but it differs in style.
