Review of Beginners (2011) by Rafael G — 27 May 2012
An interesting story, an initially perplexing composition, and a little long in the tooth in places, but in the ways which, as a friend points out to me, "I don't like art films", which isn't entirely true, but I do have little patience for the indulgences they sometimes have.
The scenes between McGregor and Plummer are elegant, the compostion of the story, once you get it, intriguing, but the love story part I felt missed its mark.
