Review of Before We Go (2014) by Isaac B — 27 Jul 2015
A good way to spend a nice uplifting two hours. For a directorial debut, this movie does not flaunt itself or go above and beyond in any aspect. For that reason, I don't think it's the best film to get Evans' name out there as a director.
However, judging simply on the movie itself, there was something to enjoy. The characters are very well written and acted booming with natural chemistry between the two leads. What I do like about this movie is that the plot is not as simple as described.
The main goal the characters are trying to achieve they do within the first half of the movie. This was unexpected and made for a more unpredictable second half. I loved what each character learned from this shared experience and I'm even happier that this movie didn't end like all the other romantic movies out there.
Again, it isn't anything out of this world, nor the best thing Chris Evans has done, but I would not be opposed to watching this one again.
