Review of Before the Rain (1994) by Serdar C — 12 Mar 2008
I was meaning to see this movie for a long time, I finally saw it and loved it! The movie is perfectly told in three parts, three connecting stories about love and hate and the war in the background. We have seen some other movies recently trying to.
Tell the same stories, showing people how bad racism and discrimination is, but some.
Of them (if I must name one, Crash) made the mistake of poking the things in our eyes.
And telling us how we must feel. Before the Rain doesn't tell us how to feel, it's trying to show us how the characters feel and lets us figure out what is right and what is wrong.
Alexander is a very interesting character played perfectly by Rade Serbedzija as the.
Successful photographer living in London, in need of returning home, Macedonia, whatever the situation is there. There are lots of good things to say about the film, from the direction to the acting but I have to say the editing is just perfect, reminding.
A circle like the director pointed out in a few scenes.
I think we are trying to look at the world with our pink glasses, trying to avoid the bad things and enjoy it the most, but right now even the pink glasses are not enough not to see how grey the world has become, just like the sky before the rain..
So, popcorn lovers, beware, this is not for you, this is not a "feel yourself good" movie,.
In fact this is a "feel yourself like shit" movie and that's how we must feel.
