Does this really happens between a single family itself? This is the question,you would be asking yourself as soon as you are finished watching this flick. The best thing 'bout the movie was,it was something that does happens in our "no fairytale world".
The movie actually deals within a family, which has 6 members(actually 5 are the main). An old couple(Albert Finney & Rosemary Harris), their 3 children(consisting of 1 daughter who doesn't really has nothing much to do with) & the wife of the elder son(Marisa Tomei).
Philip Seymour Hoffman & Ethan Hawke(Andy & Hank) are the brothers, where the elder brother has been planning something witty in his mind, with the help of his younger brother. As "money" is the universal problem, the brothers decide to rob their own "mom & pop's jewellery store".
But the things go wrong when the mother dies during the robbery. The film definitely works because of its classy performances & direction, the screenplay is surely hard hitting & the climax a pure masterpiece.
Betrayal, relationships, family, sexual extra marital affairs is what all the movie is 'bout. Some power packed performances by Ethan Hawke, Philip Hoffman & Albert Finney, hats off & two thumbs up !
