After 50 years of a filmmaking career that started off with a bang (12 Angry Men) Sidney Lumet finished with a bang.
He gathered an impressive cast consisting of Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ethan Hawke, Marisa Tomei and Albert Finney (who indeed looks like an old version of Hoffman) to create a last masterpiece.
BTDKYD is a heist film with a kinda unorthodox scenario and non-linear storytelling - it has all the premises of a film that I like.
After I saw it, I'm not disappointed, but it didn't knock me out either.
Lumet's straightforward naturalistic approach is a perfect fit for the film and all in all everything's well-done and solid entertainment (gets a bit slow in the middle parts though).
