Review of Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (2007) by Yvonne W — 20 May 2009

I suppose it's a credit to Philip Seymour Hoffman's acting that even though he was a slimy, manipulative, greedy, repulsive character I still ended up feeling a bit sorry for him. Then the reality check set in! A bit disappointing as I had read good reviews and I didn't think it lived up to them. I did like the way the scenes were cut - in the sense of jumping around in time and from the perspective of different characters - it added to the suspense.

Wouldn't watch it again but worth seeing once.
