Review of Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (2007) by Richie R — 26 May 2009

I enjoyed this movie but it doesn't quite live up to all the hype. It tells the story of two brothers whose lives, already on quite the downward spiral, descend into the most miserable nightmare. As the two of them try to solve problems of their own making, they only manage to serve to create bigger problems for themselves.

The story is engrossing and the stupidity of the dumb and dumber brothers will make you laugh out loud at times.

There's just too much cutting back in time at various points in the movie, revealing unnecessary bits of complex information to an already complicated story. This slightly spoiled it for me and made the movie about 30 minutes too long.
