Review of Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (2007) by Sherri H — 17 Jul 2009
The story is a riveting demonstration that crime doesn't pay, and that sometimes it's a complete and total disaster. Everything that could possibly go wrong in a robbery does in this film, from start to finish as we jump across the timeline in the fashion of Reservoir Dogs (another great film about a crime collapsing on itself).
One of the most revered directors paired up with a fantastic cast (Phillip Seymour Hoffman is a god among ants when it comes to acting) and a solid script equals all kinds of levels of awesome. Just don't watch the first minute.
