Very, very bleak but brilliantly directed and acted. Sidney Lumet, a legendary director already, does a great job pacing this film. Philip Seymour Hoffman is brilliant as expected - the surprise is how good Ethan Hawke and Marrisa Tomei are in their respective roles.
