Legendary director Sidney Lumet is again in top form in this excellent depiction of two brother's descent into hell. The less you know of the plot, the better, as the pieces of this intense drama slowly unfold, masterfully using the technique of going back and forth in time to get each character's perspective, and to surprise the audience with each new revelation.
Philip Seymour Hoffman proves once again why he is considered one of Hollywood's current top character actors.
