Director Sidney Lumet makes his comeback with this enthralling and pitch-dark drama. Philip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke play two brothers who try to rob their parents' jewelry store. The plan, however, goes haywire when the boys accidentally kill their mother.
This, of course, sets the ball rolling for a horrific confrontation once the father (Albert Finney) discovers the culprits. Somber, moving, and jarring, Before The Devil Knows You're Dead is a first-rate crime thriller.
