I've always been a big fan of Sidney Lumet's movies, and it's so nice to see him come up with a visual style and sense of storytelling that proves why this guy is one of the most consistently great directors.
One part a chilling noir, another part a heartbreaking drama about the limits one will go to when it comes to self-preservation, this fine film also examines familial elements and the evils members of a family do to one another.
This is definitely a movie you have to be ready for; it is not something that you can casually decide to watch one night. You have to be ready to be assaulted on man fronts, and be ready for a lot of Marisa Tomei nudity.
