Review of Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (2007) by Noel V — 26 Apr 2012
Terrific film, one of the best of the year and I suspect a high water mark for Lumet. At eighty plus he displays more fluidity, intuition, expressiveness, and sheer vitality than either of the Coen brothers.
And Philip Seymour Hoffman, Marisa Tomei, and even the usually flavorless Ethan Hawke are all terrific.
