Review of Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (2007) by Derrick K — 09 Sep 2013
A great film for Sidney Lumet to end his magnificent career on. Sadly he died shortly after this was released but he left a 40 plus year career behind. This was carefully crafted and beautifully acted by every single actor in this.
Michael Shannon and Albert Finney steal the show in my personal opinion. Marisa Tomei continues to seriously impress me with her acting and cold emotionless wife of Hoffman. Ethan Hawke is as solid an actor as you can ask for, he's not flashy but he's not sleeping through his performance at all either.
Everybody in this was on their game and so was the legend himself Sidney Lumet.
