I've always had a belief in the very best of drama stories are ones that take "normal", believable, characters to extraordinary, however still believable, places are the best written hardcore dramas.

couple that with a few of the best, a musical score that is memorable, and a handful of tertiary characters that are every bit as deep as the main ones and it's as good as it gets.
