Review of Before Sunset (2004) by Raynormanbateman . — 10 Jul 2010
I am annoyed with myself for having these two gems of movie making and just watching it now.
This is surprisingly even better than the first and I just couldn't see how they could even do that. The acting was brilliant because most of the scenes were ongoing like a real life documentary and they had to speak dialog throughout with no interruption. It almost feels like you are part of them walking on the streets of Paris enjoying great conversation after another. The film boldly makes you wait as well to find out answers that you have from the first film and what happened since, why so long before they saw each other again, did they meet after 6 month in Vienna like they promised they would? Have they got someone in their life now? Are they still the same?
There are a lot of stand out scenes but for me personally the Waltz song she sings for him and the ending in general were amazing. Both actors connect together so well once again and even more just like their characters and maybe that's why this film is so good and was so successful.
This is easily two of the best Romantic films I've ever seen. It almost wants you to pray for another sequel but I think it ends perfectly and as much I would love to see those two characters together again I am happy with the conclusion.
