Review of Before Sunset (2004) by Kezia R — 03 Jul 2013
Did Jesse and Celine really meet each other again in December? Well, you'll find out. But that's not the point of this movie.
Nine years ago, Celine and Jesse were so passionate and daring. But that's nine years ago. Now they are wiser and more mature. You can see that in their dialogue. The dialogue is so engaging and 'spicier'. Because they're a lot more mature, their experiences and understanding in life really help the dialogue. Oh, and their dialogue is decorated with the landscape of Paris. Thankfully, they're not disgusting like so many predictable romance movies set in Paris.
Both Hawke and Delpy gave their best ability for this movie. Not only they had a good chemistry, they were good to as individuals. It's so amazing how Hawke and Delpy (as their characters) looked so awkward, but as they talked, they're closer and closer. And voila! There's a moment when the wall between them was destroyed and they connected again. And thankfully this wonderful movie has a great ending too!
Thank God Delpy and Hawke wrote their dialogue for this movie.
