Review of Before Sunrise (1995) by Ryan D — 15 Nov 2010
Just had these two movies on my mind. I just finished watching Before Sunset again. What a great piece of art. My senior year of high school I was very fortunate to happen upon a little gem of a movie calle Before Sunrise. I gotta say that I really enjoy a good romantic story. I fell in love with it. This is when I became an Ethan Hawke fan. I wanted to be him. I wanted to be that guy on the train. The conversation was so real to me. It became one of my favortie films.
Then when I heard that Before Sunset was being made I absolutely was ecstatic. I wanted to know so badly what had happened to these two characters. I mean I actually had this feeling of joy inside. I don't remember the last I felt like that for a film coming out. I went to the theatre, and was drawn into Jesse and Celine's lives one more time. I was totally invested in them.
I can only hope that there is going to be a third movie. Although, the ending of Before sunset is wonderful, and I couldn't have hoped for anything better. To see the journey these two lives had taken in 9 years, and how much of them were the same as well as different all at the same time. I guess it would ruin that feeling I get inside, and I can't really get it right. I can't explain in words how it truly makes me feel! Because the only thing left is for them to wind up together or be separated again. I guess a third movie would just make it go away. But goddamnit I still wish I knew what exactly happens to them after the closing frame of Before Sunset.
Movies Rock!
