Review of Before Sunrise (1995) by Thomas B — 28 Jan 2015
Too often, audiences try to put the particulars of film into rigid categories. Which is what makes films that exist outside of the box so special. And Before Sunrise exists outside of the box. It might not be my favorite type of film, but there is definitely a place for Before Sunrise in the grand scheme of the cinematic landscape. Watching the inception of a relationship, and simply hearing the ebb and flow of a conversation is a treat that few (if any) other filmmakers indulge in. But Richard Linklater certainly does, and he is quickly becoming one of my favorite directors.
"Isn't everything we do in life a way to be loved a little more?" 8/10.
