This movie is beautiful not because of the witty and piercing food for thought that Jesse's realism poses, nor the observations of the disillusioned romanticist that is Celine. It's beautiful because the façade they work so hard to maintain collapses to reveal their true, helpless yearning for one other, nakedly mirroring what they- and maybe we- truly feel.
