Review of Before Sunrise (1933) by Tyler B — 08 Oct 2013
This film is the reason we go to the movies. Before Sunrise is the epitome of romance, Richard Linklater has directed a film that is flawless both in it's incredibly genius script but also with it's flawlessly natural performances.
Linklater and it's stars (Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke) have done the unthinkable, by creating a film that is literally two characters walking and talking without it being painfully tedious or uninteresting.
In fact the composer has created one of the most enthralling films I have ever seen, by constructing beautifully written characters in an impeccable setting with truly beautiful cinematography, as well as iconic costume design, the director literally leaves us wanting more and thankfully he gave us more, in the form of a trilogy.
Before Sunrise is an exquisite film that has truly left me hypnotised by it's indisputable beauty, it remains a classic about modern love. 5/5.
