Review of Before Sunrise (1933) by Grayson D — 22 Jan 2014
I wanted to like this more than I did, I wanted to love it but I found it more often maddening than brilliant, though some of it is brilliant. I like Hawke and Delpy and both are great but I didn't love the characters.
I feel it strives for an importance it never actually acheives and similar themes have been done in similar ways before, but better by Rohmer, Godard and Woody Allen to name three. Still, a good film but not the great one I expected.
