This movie tells of the depressing life journey of the Cuban poet Reinaldo Arenas. I love how bits and pieces of his poetry are mingled into the storytelling. And speaking of storytelling, the director is extremely creative in conveying the passing of time or happening of an event with the most minute visual details; e.
G. one scene, Reinaldo's plant only had leave when the camera panned away, but when it panned back seconds later, it was in full bloom. To me it highlights the banality and inevitability of the event.
