Review of Before Midnight (2013) by Petros T — 07 Oct 2013
The first part is half-pretentious, lightweight and engaging. The second part is totally pretentious, self-serious and boring in a just-break-up-you-two-and-get-on-with-it way. The dialogues get unrealistic and there seems to be a total lack of self-respect or mutual respect from the main characters.
On the plus side, the direction is above par, the acting good, the photography nice and the change of scenery particularly notable (outside/ inside, many characters/ just the two of them).
