Review of Before I Fall (2017) by Kayla J — 29 Jun 2017
A teenage drama that ends up far more likeable and accessible than I thought it would be, with much of this hinging on the performance of Zoey Deutch, and the rest of it stemming from its "groundhog day" premise.
And if nothing else, the film offers plenty in the way of good discussion and good questions that are very much worth asking, ultimately pushing us to consider the important of being not only aware of the stories that surround us, but in being present in those stories as well. Our choices, our decisions never happen in a vacuum, even if we often believe they do, and so we are called to be compelled towards the ways in which our actions affect the lives of others.
