Review of Beetlejuice (1988) by Christopher S — 11 Feb 2012
Tim Burton has clearly created something original and imaginative here. And it is interesting to go back in time and see what he was doing without all of the digital mastering that he over-employs today.
And for a title character, Keaton is not in this movie enough. His perfect approach to Beetle's obnoxiousness required another scene at least to bring more laughs in. The Baldwin/Davis couple was far too quaint to be interesting.
If their not going to be funny, they could at least be sexier.
