Review of Beetlejuice (1988) by Darren J — 19 Sep 2012
I did not like this film! Everything that could of gone wrong did, it was boring, absolutely stupid at some points and the music was distracting.
I was very disappointed in Burton after this because it really shows how much he needs a large budget to make a good film, whereas filmakers with relatively no budget can make such a better film.
The acting was subpar from everyone apart from Betelgeuse who forced maybe one or two chuckles from me, but even if he was relied on for the comical relief his humour was so rancid and disgusting, dry if you will.
I did not like this film at all and I am very disappointed in Burton and Elfman. I felt as if though the film was unfinished and was just a warm up for Burton's career.
