Review of Beetlejuice (1988) by Shaun L — 02 Feb 2013
Great concept, horrible delivery. In the first 20 minutes I was thinking I was in for a fun time, but soon it began to take a horrible turn. By the time you started to see it was the Dead World contrasted with Tim Burton's reality, it lost its charm. Tim Burton's world of the living looked exactly, if not more extreme than the dead world.
You don't realize the climax of the movie even happened until after the scene is over, you hear the birds chirping and the music of a resolution. If you're a Tim Burton Fan...which means you like his bad movies and don't know good cinema, then check this out. If you want to watch a better Tim Burton movie, see Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.
