Review of Beetlejuice (1988) by Jacob M — 26 Nov 2013
Tim Burton has got to be one of the weirdest filmmakers in all of film history. That being said, Beetlejuice, a deliciously fun horror comedy, kept a smile on my face the whole time. Why, you ask? Well, the casting was fun, especially Michael Keaton who steals the show as Beetlejuice the crude and scary ghost spirit, along with strong acting all around from Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Catherine O'Hara, and Winona Ryder.
Plus the visuals were awesome and still holds up well for a 1988 release, Danny Elfman's score is pretty memorable, and the comedy was insanely funny. I just wished that Burton will eventually make the long-awaited sequel and give Keaton the comeback he deserves.
