Review of Beetlejuice (1988) by Chad L — 18 Oct 2012
Tim Burton provides us with an over the top, cheesy, dark, comical, and just overall bizarre film that somehow manages to relate to people even to this day. It's one of those movies that's pretty bad but because it knows it's bad it makes it kind of fun to watch.
The acting is fairly mediocre with an exception of Michael Keaton and the plot can seem to drag on at times but usually picks back up. The score by Danny Elfmann was brilliant and it really blended nicely with the tone Burton had set.
Even though I felt there were pacing problems at times and the script was pretty hokey and the special effects are pretty outdated, it's still a fun experience especially around Halloween and a great movie to watch with friends and laugh at.
