Review of Beetlejuice (1988) by Simon O — 14 May 2012
WHY did she want to kill herself? WHY WHY WHY WHY??? You also often feel as confused as the characters in the story, even when they aren't confused. Bad editing? Not sure who's responsible for these issues, but the bottom line is that this is a deeply flawed yet still entertaining film.
The "Day-O" scene is priceless and the characters are great. It could've been a lot better, though, and it certainly is not one of my favorite Burton films.
