A young student of Beethoven's cut a lock of hair from his corpse to remember him by and had it put into a glass framed container with a note to that effect. This film documents what happened to the hair over the years from 1827 to 2000 something when it came to the U.
S. via a Sotheby's auction. Scientists tested the hair and learned what killed Beethoven and caused his deafness. It's a fabulous story and well done film.
