Review of Beer League (2006) by Kyle C — 15 Jan 2008
This movie is perfect for the 2 AM time slot on one of the TV movie channels...the exact spot I stumbled upon it. Fueld by the beverage from which this film derives its namesake, I was delighted to stay up until 4 in the morning basking in the under-the-radar sleeper.
Artie Lang, as crass & classless as ever, is a lovable loser who is down on his luck and totally believable. And it has RALPH MACCHIO! That's right, the kid who crane kicked the malicious "leg-sweeper" of Kobra Kai- is still alive! And acting (sort of.
..). This gem is a beauty for what it is. Low-brow, slapstick, crude, man humor.
