Review of Bee Season (2005) by Sandy L — 22 Apr 2008
Starts out boring, but I went with it. There's a twist halfway through that is genuinely interesting, but the movie feels like it wants to be a mixing of different plotlines rather than a story. The performances are fine, especially Richard Gere, but the twist is never fully explained and the ending makes no sense, none, even in the mystical context of the rest of the movie.
The movie feels crowded, too, and the family only has four members. I don't want to be too hard on Bee Season, since it's got a lot going for it. But I can't recommend it.
