Review of Bee Season (2005) by Samantha E — 17 Jul 2007
Dumb attempt at creepiness and mixing spelling with the supernatural. It's as if a perversion of the spelling bee is used as an excuse to suggest the supernatural. It just comes off as silly and the entire project as self-absorbed; not convincing at all.
Richard Gere seems out of place, misused and odd. And as much as I love Juliette Binoche, her character's distracting storyline just makes Eliza's less believable, as it is too much for the flimsy premise.
