Review of Bee Movie (2007) by Trystan C — 23 Jul 2012
I didn't go into this movie with huge expectations, which is probably a good thing because I ended up throughly enjoying. The one key to these successful animated movies is that their comedy appeals to both kids and adults, and this one has that, with the amount swinging in the adult's favour.
There are tons of jokes that are going to fly right over a small child's head. I loved this because I felt like the movie was almost made for me, but when you think of the core audience for a movie like this, Bee Movie is not really a success.
If you're a fan of these movies and you're not 11 years old, you should see this, as some of the jokes are gold (the Ray Liotta jokes come to mind) but otherwise, go talk to Yang about Ratatouille.
