Review of Bee Movie (2007) by Archibald T — 22 Mar 2011
The tale of Barry B. Benson is one of such stupidity. A Bee just graduated from college and doesn't like the idea of sticking to one job which is making honey. So, he leaves the hive where he's almost killed until a sweet florist named Vanessa saves him.
He talks to Vanessa, she listens and is okay with the fact that she's talking to a Bee. Actually, nobody seems to really care about the phenomenon. When Vanessa and Barry are in a grocery store Barry notices honey on sale. This is when the story takes a literally odd and preachy turn which really got on my nerves.
With this new discovery of people buying honey, Barry sets out to sue the human race for what he calls stealing. When Barry actually wins the case all the honey is sent back to all the bee hives in the world. This isn't a good thing considering that the bee's in Barry's hive have now gotten lazy and the population of plants and trees have started dying. Even the fruit isn't doing so well either.
So what does Barry do? Well, he reverses the process and before you know it you just watched a history lesson on bees and their honey.
Overrated tale that is more annoying than entertaining.
