Review of Bee Movie (2007) by Zack S — 20 Dec 2009

Given in the hands of Pixar, this would no doubt have been a great animated film. Unfortunately, Dreamworks really dropped the ball here. A great concept ruined by outlandish and bizarre execution. I do think the animation is great and solid and so is the cast, but the story is pretty stupid.

I did like that the movie did have some nice humorous moments, but also featured a lot of cheesy ones as well. Not really a smart script here. I can't help but think this movie is really intended for adults as kids won't be able to make sense of most of the movie.

Although I'm pretty sure they'd laugh at most of the potty humor. Bee Movie isn't without its moments, but it's a disappointment overall.
