Review of Bedtime Stories (2008) by Robert I — 22 Jan 2013
Oh, four quad movies... An excuse for uninspired storytelling and passable special effects? Yes. Never mind the first hour and 20 minutes were all in the trailer! Sadly we're getting glitz and glam family movies these days, especially bottom of the barrel efforts like Night at the Museum I & II.
The redeeming value of this film is the cast. The delightful Keri Russell playing a character with the biggest 180 change I've seen in awhile. But Russell Brand gives the glimpsest of glimpses at his comedic potential.
Sandler however is on auto-pilot, playing the same dumb oaf with a lucky streak that he plays far too often. The film is PG, so the kids who haven't lived yet might like it, but the parents will only be able to sit through this one once or twice.
