Review of Bedazzled (2000) by Richard V — 24 Sep 2010
Oh, I dpn't know. It's impossible to hate this, but hard to praise it. Hurely is attractive, but mannered (see, I can be polite), and the script is a little hackneyed, though the conceit and the joy involved is great.
Fraser is fab, pretty much as always, playing cringeworthy roles and humour in a sympathetic manner. Pretty much everyone involved (esp Ramis and Fraser) have produced far better, but it is what it pretends to be - lightweight, heartfelt, and good humoured.
