Review of Bedazzled (2000) by Andy P — 10 Apr 2011
What bugged me most about this film was that Fraser's character never once came to the realization that all he needs to be is himself. This doesn't mean to say that the character is not a nice guy, but there was no moment of Elliot learning some greater significance about himself. That there was a happy ending was just plain dumb luck completely separate from what the movie was about.
Also, and probably more to the point, the movie just was not funny. Which is a shame considering the talent (Fraser, not Hurley) both in front and behind the camera.
