Review of Becoming Jane (2007) by Adrianna M — 09 Dec 2009

All the stupendous performances (except for Maggie Smith's, who's sadly reduced to 'doing her thing') cannot hide the fact that nothing much happens in this movie. And yet I would happily watch it again.

There is something compelling about its bleakness. Or maybe it's simply because I cannot walk past James McAvoy's work without letting out a sigh of wonderment.
