As an Austen-phile, I felt obligate to see this new film about our heroine. Based on a brief love affair that Jane had in her youth, this fictional account theorizes that Tom LeFroy was her inspiration for Mr. Darcy.

The movie was cast well, even Anne Hathaway, they all seemed at home in their period surroundings. It has a realistic feel in the set, prop, and costumes. Showing the difference tween classes, much like Austen, in tattered carpets and shabby piano forte, to the grandeur of Lady Gresham estate.

If anyone has even read one of Austen novels, the plot will seem familiar. The specific novel that comes to mind was "Mansfield Park". Who's heroine must choose to marry for money, (which will bring her up from her birth) or to wait for the love of one that hasn't yet realized he loves her. Jane and Tom have a brief antagonistic flirtation, much like Darcy and Eliza, and are thwarted by her parents who want her to marry for money and his uncle who think she's a social climber. This is at least a 3 hankie movie, but with alot of inside laughs. We even get a peek at vision of Mr. Collins, though much more cad than his fictional conterpart.

Though an truly enjoyable film, this flick will mostly like cherished by her many devotee's.
