"Because I Said So" is a story about possessive mother and her obedient daughter, where the mother wants her to get hitched, but then she has to let her daughter go, but then she still is the over powering mother. Diane Keaton as the mother was simply amazing, at some point of time you need to get out of the Kay Adams character to something lighter and funnier like this one.

Warning: You dont watch this movie with your parents, there is a much elaborated scene Orgasm description scene which Mandy Moore (daughter) explains it how it works to Diane Keaton (her mother). Dont do the same mistake which I have made. Another scene when she logs on to adultfriendfinder in search for a perfect son-in-law for a daughter.

About the movie Diane being overly possessive mother. I felt I was watching phone booth.. the only different being, in Phone Booth, Colin Farrel was stuck physically in a phone booth and here Mandy Moore was so trapped emotionally. The common follow up to the story is people just stop thinking straight. Probably that is why, Beatles sang the song "Let it be".

The movie isnt that brilliant, it has its moments, but then you can easily forget about them, if you are not a very emotional person. I think you should watch the movie with spouse or spice.
